Every Skywarden journey is privately designed. Your proposal and booking confirmation form the specific agreement for your trip; these website terms provide the general framework.

Please read the written proposal before paying. It identifies the itinerary, travellers, included services, guide price, payment schedule and any supplier conditions specific to your booking.

1. Proposal and contract

Website itineraries and prices are examples, not confirmed offers. Availability and price are confirmed only in a written proposal. A booking becomes binding when we issue written confirmation after receiving the required payment and traveller details.

If these general terms conflict with a clearly stated term in your booking confirmation, the booking confirmation applies to that journey, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

2. Price and payment

Prices may reflect accommodation, permits, conservation fees, transport, taxes and currency exchange rates available when quoted. Your proposal states the applicable currency, due dates and accepted payment method. Bank or card-provider charges are the traveller’s responsibility unless stated otherwise.

Failure to pay by a confirmed due date may allow us to release services after reasonable notice. Any cancellation consequence will follow the written cancellation schedule supplied before payment.

3. Changes to the journey

We will consider requested changes, but additional costs and supplier restrictions may apply. Wildlife, weather, road conditions, park authorities and aviation operations can require sensible itinerary changes. We may substitute a service with a reasonably comparable alternative when necessary, and will communicate material changes promptly.

4. Independent suppliers

Flights, lodges, camps, permits, transfers and specialist activities may be delivered by independent licensed suppliers. Their safety rules, baggage limits and operating conditions may apply in addition to these terms. Skywarden remains responsible for exercising reasonable care in selecting and coordinating the services it agrees to arrange.

5. Traveller responsibilities

  • Provide accurate names, dates of birth, health, mobility and dietary information relevant to safe planning.
  • Maintain valid passports, authorisations, visas, vaccination documents and travel insurance.
  • Follow lawful instructions from guides, pilots, rangers and accommodation teams.
  • Respect wildlife-distance rules, communities, property and conservation areas.
  • Tell us immediately when an itinerary document or invoice appears incorrect.

6. Health, wildlife and inherent risk

Safari travel may involve remote areas, wildlife, uneven terrain, small aircraft, boats and limited medical access. We design and brief carefully, but cannot remove every inherent risk. Travellers must seek personalised medical advice and disclose any condition that may materially affect participation.

7. Conduct and safety

We or a supplier may refuse an activity where a traveller’s conduct presents a material safety risk, is unlawful, seriously disrupts others or disregards guide instructions. We will act proportionately and document significant decisions.

8. Events beyond reasonable control

Exceptional events may include severe weather, natural disasters, epidemic controls, government action, border closure, civil disturbance or transport disruption. We will assist and seek practical alternatives, but additional unrecoverable supplier or repatriation costs may remain the traveller’s responsibility and should be insured.

9. Concerns and complaints

Raise a concern as soon as possible with your guide and Skywarden contact so we have a fair opportunity to resolve it during travel. Formal complaints should be emailed with relevant records within 28 days after the journey unless circumstances reasonably prevent this.

10. Law and consumer rights

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Nothing in them limits a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded. We prefer to resolve disputes directly and in good faith before formal proceedings.
